It is used to acquire Celestial Crystals as well as Stardust once it has fully grown. If broken prematurely it will only drop Stardust. The rate at which growth occurs can be increased by shining starlight from a Collector Crystal or Celestial Collector Crystal on it.

After a few seconds all three will be removed and replaced with the Celestial Crystal Cluster. As you've not found any direct uses from the Ancients, experimentation by rubbing it on various celestial items and devices has revealed it readily bonds to the surface of Rock Crystals in a thin, but rough, coating. Since removal of the rough coating would leave you at square one, changing how the dust collects on the crystal surface may be a better approach.

Placing the Stardust into Liquid Starlight, and subsequently tossing in a crystal, seems to result in more even application of the dust, as well as a promoting growth of the crystal into a stable cluster that seems hungry for Starlight. Sign In. From Feed The Beast Wiki. Jump to: navigationsearch.

The Stardust appears to be far more useful to experiment with than the raw Starmetal Ore. The little grains occasionally flash with light and sparkle while flowing like sand against an ocean tide. This is not helpful in itself, and refused to be removed from the crystal without grinding. Leaving this cluster to grow with Starlight shining on it may create something much more useful, and these clusters seem to interact symbiotically with Starmetal Ore itself.

In order for generation to occur, one must place an Aquamarine or Rock Crystal above it. After placing, the gem or crystal cannot be used elsewhere and will shatter after a while; Rock Crystals last longer than Aquamarines.

A carefully carved basin on marble makes the collection of this liquid quite easy. The liquid emits a bright and pure light, feels very cold and a bucket full of it weighs almost nothing. In order to use the Lightwell, an aquamarine gem or rock crystal needs to be placed on top to condense starlight into liquid. Gems and crystals used to gather starlight will constantly degrade until the point of completely shattering.

Once placed on the lightwell, they cannot be used for any other purpose than collecting starlight. Sign In. From Feed The Beast Wiki. Jump to: navigationsearch. Recipe [ edit edit source ]. Luminous Crafting Table. At night, a strange crystalline liquid seems to collect on aquamarine gems and rock crystals. On closer examination, the liquid seems to be of a condensate of pure energy derived from starlight.

This liquid starlight seems to have interesting interactions with rock crystals and other liquids, perhaps this warrants some experimentation. Resplendent Prism. Category : Astral Sorcery. Navigation menu Namespaces Page Discussion.

Similar to bathing a crystal in liquid starlight to increase it's size, can you also add that functionality to a Starlight Infuser?

I like this idea, seems like a natural progression of the mod, plus no in world to despawn and more uses for the starlight infuser, win all around. If this was added it would probably be at the cost of spliting the crystal, since i believe the infuser only has room for one item in it.

Also, i thought there was code to prevent the crystals from despawning. Dunno, might be good to have it increase size and just never split the crystal at max size, so ignoring it eats up starlight for no gain.

This can be seen when you can put a new aquamarine into the infuser without taking the previously infused one. Skip to content. Dismiss Join GitHub today GitHub is home to over 50 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

The Purity of the crystal used has no effect on the Lightwell but does for some other crafted blocks.

Put the Lightwell down under an open sky, then right-click the Lightwell with a valid item in hand to create Liquid Starlight. Valid items starting with the lowest to highest starlight generation and highest to lowest shatter chance:.

It is best to start this process at the beginning of the night in order to get the most out of your items as you will get little to none during the day. Keep in mind that Lightwells can only hold up to 2 buckets of Liquid Starlight so you will want a liquid container nearby to put Liquid Starlight into during generation.

Using Aquamarine could be costly because they can break while generating Liquid Starlight, meaning you might go through a lot of them. If you have a lot of Rock Crystals you can use the ones with the lowest purity. Be sure to have a bucket on hand to empty the Lightwell. Liquid Starlight behaves similarly to water.

It moves WaterMills, flows a lot faster than water, gives you night vision when you stand in it, and it will freeze when in contact with water. When using it with other Mods, please note that it is considered very cold.

If you try to extract this liquid via Thermal Expansion Fluid Ducts they will break you will need to use Reinforced Liquid ducts. Liquid Star Light can be pumped out from the bottom of the Lightwell. It is used to redirect Starlight in the Starlight network. It can be linked to and linked from by the Linking Tool.

It can accept Starlight from multiple sources, but it can only emit one ray. The size of the Rock Crystal or Celestial Crystal is proportional to the amount of Lenses created, with the size being divided by 80 and rounded down to get the amount of Lenses, with one Lens being the minimum. The purity and cutting of the Crystal used affect the amount of Starlight lost when transferring through the Lens.

A brilliant, yet seemingly obvious, idea comes to mind: redirecting and refocusing the Starlight via a network of lenses to provide enough reach to direct it wherever needed. Constantly shifting the light into different directions over long distances takes its toll.

The further the light travels, the weaker it will get as each lens takes its toll. Since the crystal used to construct a lens capable of redirecting this volatile light makes up most of the lens, the properties the crystal had will affect the transmission rate significantly. The bigger the crystal used to craft, the more lenses that can be crafted at once. A very impure crystal will most likely occlude Starlight passing through by the dust and other material it has embedded within.

The quality of the facets cut into the lens will determine how focused the beam of transmitted light is, further reducing losses. Bound by its basic physicality, a lens might accept Starlight from multiple directions, though it is only able to direct the light into one direction. Wherever the outgoing Starlight is aimed, the lens will rotate to direct it there.

Bending Starlight simply from a source to a location might not be enough. The source might be at an unfitting place, or the destination for the Starlight is just too far away. Obviously, a clear line-of-sight is required to successfully transmit, for now. Resplendent Prism. Category : Astral Sorcery.

Next you want to craft the Linking Tool and a few Lenses, these items must be crafted in the new Starlight Crafting Altar. In order to gain even more Starlight you can link the Collector Crystals you found in one of the big Shrines to your Starlight Crafting Altar.

Depending on how far away your Altar is, it might not be difficult to get it to reach. Putting a Lens down between your Starlight Crafting Altar and the Collector Crystal will allow you to link the Crystal with the lens by simply right-clicking the Crystal then the Lens with the Linking Tool.

Once it has been linked, a beam of light will come from the Collector Crystal to the lens. Next you can link the lens with the altar by right-clicking the lens, and then the altar. Sneak-right-clicking the block will unlink the block. When you use imperfect lenses, the further you go away from the Collector Crystal the weak and weaker the beam will be.

Attunement Lens. Before crafting a bunch of lenses keep in mind the following: Purity - The higher the Purity the more Starlight can pass through the lens. Size - This will increase the quantity of lenses you make with each crafting. The above example is NOT perfect as the Spectral Relay's are far to close together When you use imperfect lenses, the further you go away from the Collector Crystal the weak and weaker the beam will be.
